How to get started

If you’ve just taken a look around the room and thought “I don’t know where to start…” don’t worry – we’ve got you covered. All you need to do is:

  • Assemble your materials
    • Cleaning cloth
    • Squeegee
    • All-natural cleaning spray
    • Duster or microfibre cloth
    • Vacuum
    • Mop
  • Turn on your favourite tunes or download a great podcast
  • Pick your first room
  • Follow our plan

It might feel a little overwhelming at first, but once you get going, you’ll see positive changes right away. Not only will your home look better, but you’ll feel an instant mood boost. And who knows – you might even start to have a little fun!

1. Declutter

Before you get your hands dirty, take a look around to for any clutter that can be cleared out. Spring is a perfect time of year to embrace a minimalistic vibe and let in the natural light, so don’t let any bulky or unnecessary items get in the way.

Chances are you’ll know what to get rid of when you see it. Look for items that you don’t like, don’t need, or rarely use that can either be thrown out, given away, or stored safely until you want them again.

2. Dust and wipe down

Once you’ve cleared out your space, give all light fixtures, blinds, and surfaces in the room a good dusting. Using a duster or microfibre cloth, work your way from the top of the room downwards. Be sure to protect your eyes and mouth from stray particles.

Next, use your cleaning spray and cloth to clean the surfaces. The features that need attention will vary from room to room, so try to work your way around your space in an organized fashion.

We say this to you with love – don’t get lazy! Move items like books, lamps, plants and other knick-knacks out of the way so you can reach all the nooks and crannies. Don’t forget to look out for spots that might not seem as obvious, like the front of cupboards and drawers as well as doorknobs and handles.

3. Polish mirrors and windows

Allow your home to embrace that springtime sunshine. Cleaning the mirrors and windows in a room can instantly make it feel brighter and more welcoming.

We know that cleaning these areas can be tricky. To avoid streaks and splatters, use a glass-friendly cleaning spray, a squeegee, and a slow, systematic approach.

4. Vacuum and mop

Now that you’ve tackled all the areas above ground, it’s time to get into the heart of the room.

Dirt and bacteria can build up within your carpets and rugs, which can be especially harmful to those who are sensitive to dust and allergens. Our professional in-home cleaning service will tackle these problems and transform your space into a clean and comfortable retreat.

It’s important to vacuum the floor, rugs, and upholstery using the appropriate settings and attachments to make sure you can clear out as much debris as possible.

Finish off by mopping hard floor surfaces with an all-natural floor cleaning solution. If your tiles and grout are in need of more serious attention, our hot water treatment can help to make them look like new again.

Follow these four easy steps from room to room and soon you’ll have a beautiful, fresh home that’s ready to smile back at springtime.
